Sara is a National Certified Guardian and focuses her practice on guardianships and estate planning.
Born and raised in North Dakota on her parents’ 2,500 acre farm, Sara learned the value of a strong work ethic firsthand. When she wasn’t working alongside her family, she could be found enjoying anything and everything in the great outdoors, from riding horses and skiing to hunting and fishing.
Sara’s commitment to hard work continued and she graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota. From there, she attended law school at Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, served as executive managing editor of the Indiana Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude. Driven by her experiences in the field and her passion to help those around her, Sara joined forces with Ken Bennett to form Bennett & McClammer LLP in 2014.
In 2015, Ken and Sara again teamed up to co-found Scout Guardianship Services, Inc., a professional fiduciary company that serves as guardian, power of attorney, trustee, and health care representative. In 2020, Scout Guardianship Services, Inc. merged with healthcare consultant Jane Malkoff and formed Scout Advocacy LLC. This new company offers a more comprehensive line of fiduciary services, healthcare consulting, and support for family fiduciaries.
Sara is admitted to practice law in the state of Indiana. She is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is active in its Estate Planning Section. Sara is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, a 2015 graduate of its Leadership Development Academy and further serves as Chair-Elect of the Young Lawyers Section. She is also a member of the National Guardianship Association and the Indiana State Guardianship Association.
Living in Indianapolis with their two Boston Terriers, Sara and her husband, Kyle, have two boys, Maxwell (age 3) and George (age 1). In her free time, Sara loves getting outside for a run, reading a good fiction book, or listening to a true crime podcast.
